Effective date: April 01, 2026
This policy is designed to be clear for customers and compatible with a Paddle-based checkout flow. It should be reviewed by your legal team before publication.
1. Overview
Symilars.com sells digital software and/or subscription-based services. Payments may be processed through Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for purchases made through Paddle checkout. This means that when you place an order, your payment may be charged and processed by Paddle or one of its affiliated entities on our behalf.
Because Paddle manages checkout, billing infrastructure, certain tax handling, and parts of customer billing support, some payment-related communications may come from Paddle, and you may also be able to manage billing through a Paddle-hosted customer portal or order support flow.
2. Product Type
All products and services sold on symilars.com are digital products and/or digital subscription services. No physical goods are shipped unless explicitly stated on the relevant checkout or product page.
3. Pricing and Taxes
Prices are displayed at checkout. Where applicable, sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar indirect taxes may be calculated and added by Paddle at checkout based on the buyer's location and the nature of the transaction.
We reserve the right to update pricing at any time. For subscription products, any change to recurring pricing will apply only in accordance with applicable law and any notice requirements.
4. Subscription Billing
If you purchase a subscription:
- your subscription will renew automatically at the billing interval shown at checkout unless you cancel;
- you authorize recurring charges using your chosen payment method;
- the renewal amount may include applicable taxes unless stated otherwise; and
- access to paid features may continue until the end of the then-current billing period after cancellation, unless stated differently at checkout.
5. Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your subscription at any time before the next renewal date to prevent future charges.
You can usually cancel by one of the following methods:
- through your account settings on symilars.com, if available;
- through the Paddle customer portal, where available; or
- by contacting support using the contact details in this policy.
Cancellation stops future billing. Unless required by law or explicitly stated in an offer, cancellation does not automatically generate a refund for the current billing period.
If your subscription is canceled for non-payment, chargeback, fraud concerns, or a breach of our terms, access to the service may be suspended or terminated.
6. Refund Policy
We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time purchases of our standard digital products or first subscription payment, unless a different refund term is clearly stated on the product page or at checkout.
6.1 When you are eligible for a refund
You may request a refund within 30 days of the original order date if:
- you made a first-time purchase of an eligible product or plan;
- the request is submitted within 30 calendar days of the transaction date; and
- there is no evidence of abuse, repeated refund requests, fraud, or material violation of our terms.
6.2 When refunds may be refused or limited
We may refuse, limit, or prorate a refund where permitted by law, including when:
- the request is made after the 30-day refund window;
- the purchase was made as part of a custom, enterprise, consulting, or non-standard agreement;
- the product or service was obtained through fraud, abuse, or unauthorized use;
- the transaction is subject to a duplicate refund, chargeback, or payment dispute; or
- the law in your country provides different mandatory rules that supersede this policy.
6.3 Renewals
Unless required by law, renewal payments are generally non-refundable once charged. However, we may review exceptional cases in good faith, especially where:
- you contacted us promptly after renewal;
- you did not use the service after renewal; or
- applicable consumer protection law grants you additional rights.
6.4 How to request a refund
To request a refund, contact us at [email protected] and include:
- the email address used for purchase;
- your order reference, invoice number, or Paddle receipt if available; and
- a short explanation of the issue.
If your order was processed by Paddle, you may also be directed to Paddle order support or a Paddle-hosted buyer support flow for payment-related assistance.
6.5 Refund processing time
If approved, refunds are typically initiated within 5 business days after approval. The time for funds to appear in your account depends on your payment method and financial institution.
7. Free Trials and Promotional Offers
If we offer a free trial or introductory promotion, the specific terms will be shown at signup or checkout. Unless otherwise stated, paid subscription billing begins automatically at the end of the trial period unless canceled before renewal.
8. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us first so we can investigate and try to resolve the issue quickly.
Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute without first contacting us may delay resolution and may result in temporary suspension of access while the payment issue is under review.
9. Complaint Handling Policy
We take complaints seriously and aim to resolve them fairly and promptly.
9.1 How to submit a complaint
Please send complaints to [email protected] with the subject line: Complaint - symilars.com
Please include:
- your name;
- the email address associated with your account or purchase;
- relevant order details; and
- a clear description of the issue.
9.2 Complaint response times
Our target service levels are:
- acknowledgement within 2 business days;
- substantive response within 5 business days; and
- final resolution target within 15 business days, where reasonably possible.
If more time is needed, we will let you know.
9.3 Escalation
If you are unhappy with the outcome, you may request escalation by replying to our response and stating that you would like your complaint reviewed by a senior team member.
If applicable consumer law in your country gives you the right to use an external dispute resolution body, ombudsman, or online dispute resolution platform, you may also use those channels.
EU/EEA consumers: You may also have access to your local consumer authority or dispute resolution body. Add any country-specific ombudsman or authority details here if your business has a primary jurisdiction or required local disclosure.
10. Account Access and Service Delivery
After successful payment, access is generally granted automatically or as soon as reasonably possible. We may suspend or restrict access where:
- payment is not completed or is later reversed;
- we detect fraud, abuse, or misuse;
- the service is used in violation of our terms; or
- we are required to do so for legal, regulatory, or security reasons.
